Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Manager to join our team at DSM. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and managing direct key accounts and local distributors in the fragrance and cosmetics industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Growth and Management: Expand the consumer brands fragrance business in Australia and New Zealand, identifying new business opportunities and developing strategies to achieve sales growth.
  • Business Development: Build and maintain relationships with key customer contacts, including brand marketing, R&D, innovation, procurement, supply chain, and material planning teams.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and execute account plans to drive sales growth and profitability, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives.
  • Project Management: Lead teams to deliver on business objectives, managing brief to adoption processes and driving innovation and strategy.
  • Gross and Commercial Margins Protection: Manage profitability of consumer brand fragrance and cosmetics segment, ensuring adherence to business guidelines.
  • Innovation and Strategy: Collaborate with regional office on innovation plans and potential growth strategies for consumer brand fragrance and cosmetics segment.
  • Marketing and Consumer Insight Collaboration: Work closely with regional marketing and consumer insight teams to enhance consumer brand fragrance and cosmetics segment.
  • Fragrance Collection Management: Manage in-country fragrance collection and drive fragrance adoption as per service level agreements.
  • Market Understanding: Understand customers' business operations, product lines, brand strategies, and consumer targets to provide a value-added advantage in managing account plans.
  • Market Intelligence: Report on developments in the market, including regulatory, competition, price levels, new ingredients, distribution channels, and other relevant information.
  • Strategic Account Planning: Define and implement strategic account plans, translating into financial profitability and goals both strategically and tactically.
  • Distributor Management: Manage local distributor's activities and provide support to gain and maintain businesses, including regular joint customer visits.
  • Industry Networking: Build and maintain strong links with regulatory bodies, local Personal Care/Cosmetic Association(s)/Societies, and links to universities.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience as a Marketing, Brand, R&D, and/or Account Manager, preferably in the fragrance or related industries.
  • Education: Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Chemistry, or any other relevant discipline.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge in fine fragrances and premium home fragrances is essential.
  • Commercial and Interpersonal Skills: Strong commercial and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key customer contacts.
  • Creative Thinking: A creative thinker with a proactive and results-driven attitude, able to lead cross-functional teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Travel: Ability to travel overseas as required.
