Job Description
The role of a Coding Auditor/Educator involves conducting regular audits to ensure accurate coding, legitimate maximization of revenue, and identifying education requirements. This exciting opportunity will involve developing and implementing audit tools for coding/documentation accuracy, maintaining benchmarks for coding accuracy, and ensuring compliance with relevant Accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing audit tools for coding/documentation accuracy
- Maintaining benchmarks for coding accuracy and monitoring performance against predetermined criteria
- Ensuring compliance with relevant Accreditation requirements from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards
- Consulting with and engaging coding staff to identify training needs and assisting in training/mentoring
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High level time management and organisational skills
- Proven experience in basic computing skills, including Microsoft Office (email, Excel, word processing)
- Complex clinical coding experience, including demonstrated advanced competency in ICD-10-AM coding
- Experience in auditing clinical coded data
- SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A RECOGNISED DIPLOMA OF CLINICAL CODING COURSE IN ICD-10-AM OR EQUIVALENT, TOGETHER WITH DEMONSTRATED ADVANCED COMPETENCY IN ICD-10-AM CODING
