Senior Sustainability Expert

This key role is central to Sky's expanding sustainability initiatives. It ensures our people are safeguarded through rigorous supplier due diligence and human rights programs, our products are chemically safe and environmentally crafted, and we meet our Net Zero commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy with responsibility across all of Group Supply Chain and wider accountability across Group Procurement Supplier Due Diligence and Net Zero.
- Facilitate the removal of Group Supply Chain and Group Procurement's CO2e emissions to ensure that Sky meets its Net Zero obligations.
- Lead a centre of excellence and be a trusted advisor across all parts of Sustainability: Extended Product Responsibility, Chemicals Compliance, Supplier Due Diligence, Accessibility, Resource Efficiency and Net Zero.
- Monitor and influence sustainability-focused EU Directives, Regulations and Standards into the EU and UK governments, ensuring Sky is compliant now and in the future.
- Assess requirements for new and existing electronic consumer products and audit supporting product documentation and compliance reports.
- Ensure alignment to NPI and Existing production timelines whilst driving continuous improvement of Sky's Due Diligence process.
- Be the trusted advisor across all Sustainability & Ecodesign matters in the PRAC (Product Responsibility and Compliance Meeting).
- Develop and manage a highly engaged team and lead people management & development of a diverse mix of Sustainability & Compliance Managers
- Manage multiple sophisticated partners working collaboratively across Group Supply Chain, Group Procurement, Legal, Bigger Picture & Group Products teams.

Requirements:

  • Senior level experience in Sustainability across Europe, UK and Asia.
  • Experience running test houses or leading teams ensuring compliance to UK and European applicable legislation.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams with varied strengths of people, passionate about their management and development.
  • Experience with sophisticated partner management in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Degree in Sustainability or education specialising in a field like Environmental Studies.
  • Strong communications skills on strategic as well as operational level, ability to adjust from high level to operational details seamlessly depending on situation/audience.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation and influencing skills within the ability to effectively communicate to senior partners.
  • Entrepreneurial problem solver, able to articulate sophisticated scenarios so that informed decisions can be taken.
  • Adept at partner management and negotiation with the ability to influence and drive Product Compliance governance and strategy implementation across Sky.
