We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager Sustainable Volunteerism to join our team at the Country Fire Authority (CFA). As a key organisational position, you will be responsible for driving brigade sustainability through the growth and retention of volunteer members.


About the role

This is an exceptional fixed-term opportunity to showcase your expertise in the field of volunteering coupled with your strong understanding and commitment to the culture, needs and impacts of a volunteer workforce.


The Senior Manager Sustainable Volunteerism will be responsible for designing, leading and managing the Volunteer Sustainability Program aligned with the CFA strategic priorities and outcomes.


You will utilise effective project management methods to provide expertise and manage the efficient allocation of resources to identify, develop, deliver and maintain strategic plans, programs and resources that enhance brigade viability and volunteerism.


This position will lead the State Volunteer Sustainability Team and work closely with the OP&C leadership team, Service Delivery Leadership Team, Volunteer Sustainability Regional Managers, other CFA departments, research bodies, and emergency service agencies to provide high-level advice and contribute to the strategic planning and direction of a sustainable and unified volunteer, brigade and group model.


About you

You will be a superior communicator and negotiator with exceptional skills in preparing and presenting complex written documents, as well as the ability to apply project methodology to a range of activities.


The ideal candidate will have experience within a fast-paced environment focused on governance and long-term volunteer sustainability, while leading a small high-performing team.


Highly desirable is a tertiary qualification in community development, social sciences, humanities or other relevant disciplines or equivalent experience.
