We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Equipment Specialist to join our team at Visy Beverage Can Smithfield.

This role will involve maintaining and repairing machinery within our Beverage Can Plant, ensuring the production of high-quality products while adhering to Visy's values.

The successful candidate will report to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Attending to breakdowns and minimizing downtime
  • Carrying out routine checks and planned maintenance to retain machine efficiency
  • Assisting in fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs of machinery
  • Carrying out general overhauls to machinery
  • Maintaining stock levels of spare parts to assist in making components for repairs
  • Updating and maintaining data records on works carried out
  • Upholding and adhering to company policies and procedures in Environmental, Health, and Safety

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualifications (Certificate III or higher) in a Fitting/Machine discipline
  • Solid experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Hydraulics and Pneumatics experience would be highly regarded
  • Computer literacy – MS office, SAP knowledge or similar related software applications
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
