**Job Title:** Senior Care Services Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to oversee the daily operations of our Extra Care Scheme. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of senior care workers and support staff, ensuring that residents receive person-centered care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Service Delivery: Manage the day-to-day delivery of care services, ensuring that residents receive high-quality care and support.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of senior care workers and support staff, providing guidance and coaching as needed.
  3. Communication: Maintain regular liaison with social workers, social services, commissioners, health authorities, and other professionals involved in the integration of the service.
  4. Budget Management: Manage the budget for your area of responsibility, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
  5. Investigations: Lead investigations into complaints, safeguarding concerns, or incidents, ensuring responses adhere to service level agreements (SLA).
  6. Staff Development: Support and develop staff through care coaching, inductions, training, personal development reviews, and mentoring.
  7. Reporting: Produce, monitor, review, and report KPIs in line with company and local authority contractual requirements.
  8. Allocations: Attend allocation/panel meetings with the Housing Manager, make recommendations, and offer placements to potential residents, ensuring a balanced community of care and support needs.
  9. Business Continuity: Take responsibility for the Business Continuity Plan, working with the Housing Provider on Fire Evacuation and Emergency planning.
  10. Activities: Collaborate with the Housing Provider to ensure the provision of a wide range of activities, encouraging participation.
  11. Medication: Liaise with health services for administering, recording, and supervising medication according to policies and procedures.
  12. Emergency Response: Provide direct care and support to residents in emergencies where appropriate.
  13. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with relevant stakeholders, including professionals, care workers, families, and advocates involved in providing residents' care and support.
  14. Supervision: Attend supervision, staff, and team meetings, and training sessions as required, which may be off-site.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and Skills: Understanding the needs of older people and the purpose of Extra Care Housing, knowledge of best practices and innovation in an Extra Care Scheme setting, and knowledge of supervising medication.
  • Leadership Experience: Successful leadership experience in care and support services.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Ability to produce accurate reports and meet deadlines in line with contractual and regulatory obligations.
  • Team Management: Ability to lead a diverse team working shift patterns, maintaining accurate and safe staffing levels as per contractual and company standards.

Desirable:

  • Planning and Rotas: Experience in planning staff rotas using rostering systems.
  • Extra Care Experience: Previous experience managing onsite care and support within an Extra Care setting.
