Job Title: Senior Water Resources Engineer

We are seeking an experienced water resources professional to join our team.

The Role
  • Provide technical guidance and assist with non-Newtonian dam break assessments.
  • Conduct rainfall, flow, and flood assessments, including modelling, mapping, flood mitigation design, and risk assessments.
  • Lead water management related studies and investigations from pre-feasibility through to detailed design and operation.
  • Develop group capability in stormwater management and flood studies in a mining context.
  • Develop hydrological, hydraulic, and probabilistic water balance models for surface water/runoff flows, peak flows, and flood risk.
  • Design hydraulic and other water management structures for mine sites.
  • Support business development activities, develop client relationships, and write proposals.
  • Project manage, including project scoping, budget control, planning, and staff coordination.
About You
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related field with a focus on hydrology.
  • A Masters (MSc) degree in hydrology or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • You are proficient in GIS applications (ArcGIS suite), hydraulic, and flood modelling software (HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MIKE), and water balance modelling software (GoldSim).
  • You are an EA Chartered Engineer or close to achieving.
  • You have understanding of non-Newtonian flow conditions and specific skills for tailings storage facility dam break assessments.
  • You demonstrate resourceful work approach, initiative, and decision-making skills.
  • You have excellent technical writing skills, experience in proposal writing, and technical reporting.
