About the Role
As an Infrastructure Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality facilities and infrastructure services to support education across Queensland. Your role will involve providing expert advice, coordinating projects, and ensuring schools and educational facilities receive necessary infrastructure support.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver client-focused facilities advice and consultancy services to schools, senior management, staff, and the wider community.
- Offer strategic advice, information, and support on facilities planning, investment, and asset management.
- Coordinate with regional facilities teams, the Infrastructure Services Division, and external providers to deliver a broad range of facilities services.
- Collaborate across teams and agencies to provide field-based facility support services.
- Prepare ministerial responses, reports, and briefing materials.
- Ensure business practices and processes align with divisional standards and directions.
- Manage and monitor delivery of capital works, maintenance, and facilities services to scope, budget, and quality requirements.
- Advise senior officers on facilities planning and asset management matters.
- Conduct and report on operational audits of physical assets.
- Support and participate in the professional development of regional staff.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities planning, asset management, or infrastructure delivery within a complex organization (public sector or education sector experience highly regarded).
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and agencies.
- Blue card required.
- Demonstrated capability in managing projects to scope, budget, and timeframes.
- High-level written communication skills, including the ability to prepare quality reports and ministerial briefings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on practical solutions.
- A commitment to high-quality customer service and continuous improvement.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
About You
- You have a proven track record in facilities planning, asset management, or infrastructure delivery.
- You possess strong stakeholder engagement skills and can collaborate effectively across multiple teams and agencies.
- You hold a Blue card and are willing to obtain any other necessary certifications.
- You have demonstrated capability in managing projects to scope, budget, and timeframes.
- You possess high-level written communication skills and can prepare quality reports and ministerial briefings.
