Software Assurance Expert Required

Located in Brisbane, we require a Software Assurance SME to support the UH-60M System Safety Program.

About the Program:

The UH-60M System Safety Program aims to ensure the safe operation of the aircraft by identifying and mitigating potential hazards associated with its software systems. The program involves collaboration with various stakeholders to review and analyze software assurance requirements, identify potential risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the System Safety Program Manager - UH-60M to review and analyze software assurance requirements associated with proposed changes as part of Software System Requirements Hazard Analysis (SRHA).
  • Provide input to Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) as required, including advice on potential Systematic Common Mode Failures.
  • Contribute to Sub-System Hazard Analysis (SSHA) and System Hazard Analysis (SHA) activities as needed.
  • Evaluate validation and verification risk mitigation measures, and manage associated risks in support of test events.
  • Assess Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Change Notices (CNs), Deficiency Reports, Mishaps, and Requests for Deviations and Waivers from a Software Assurance perspective.
  • Define tests and demonstrations, or utilize other verification methods, to verify compliance with safety requirements.
  • Oversee and ensure that all Software Assurance activities are aligned with Airworthiness Design Requirements Manual, Section 2, Chapters 2 & 3 'System Safety' & Aviation Software respectively.
  • Guide management of software load control and criticality lists in accordance with Defence Aviation Safety Program Manual, Volume 2: Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR): DASR 21 - Aircraft Design, Production and Certification: Section A: Technical Requirements: SUBPART G: Military Production Organisation Approval: 21.A.165 - Obligations of the holder.
  • Ensure all Software Assurance Continuing Airworthiness Management Obligations (CAMO) obligations are met as defined by Defence Aviation Safety Program Manual, Volume 2: Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR): DASR M - Continuing Airworthiness Management: Section A: SUBPART B: Accountability: M.A.201 - Responsibilities.
