Job Summary:

The Systems Safety Principal is accountable for ensuring product safety and compliance with relevant legislation.

About the Role:

  • Leading Product Safety governance across development programs
  • Undertaking complex engineering assignments requiring advanced system safety knowledge and expertise
  • Developing safety requirements and safety statements for complex designs
  • Serving as the primary technical contact on contracts and projects in product safety
  • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to agree risk mitigation controls
  • Providing guidance and mentoring staff to develop their skills and capabilities
  • Driving RDA-wide (Product) Safety Culture initiatives and identifying business improvement opportunities
  • Offering specialist advice as required

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering recognised by The Institute of Engineers Australia
  • Registration with Board of Professional Engineers Queensland/Victoria
  • Advanced ability to effectively manage multiple activities, prioritise tasks and dependencies, and mitigate risks
  • Substantive leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to drive innovation and lead change
