Job Title: Safety and Compliance Officer

About the Opportunity

The Council is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Safety and Compliance Officer to contribute to public safety and regulatory compliance within the community.

As a Safety and Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of swimming pools to ensure adherence to relevant legislative requirements, standards, and regulations.

Your duties will include:

  • Enforcing legislative requirements;
  • Delivering certification and compliance services;
  • Implementing the Council's Swimming Pool Inspection Program;
  • Promoting awareness and providing professional advice on swimming pool safety standards among residents and stakeholders.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 12 months experience as a Building Surveyor/Swimming Pool Inspector or similar role;
  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying and/or Swimming Pool Certification;
  • A thorough understanding of the Swimming Pools Act 1992;
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills;
  • Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills;
  • A current Class C Drivers Licence.
