This critical role involves ensuring the safety of swimming pool barriers across a scenic local government area. As a Swimming Pool Barrier Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections to ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
Duties:- Conduct regular inspections of swimming pool barriers under the Council's statutory inspection program.
- Assess applications for compliance certificates and respond to complaints or referrals from residents and industry professionals.
- Issue relevant documentation, including Notices, Orders, Certificates, and Infringements.
- Provide expert advice and customer service to pool owners and residents.
- Collect evidence and represent the Council in legal proceedings as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection records.
- Liaise with stakeholders to achieve safe and compliant outcomes.
- Accredited Swimming Pool Inspector under the Building & Development Certifiers Regulation 2020.
- Advanced Diploma in Building Surveying or similar tertiary qualification.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence.
- Hands-on experience in pool barrier inspections.
- Strong knowledge of swimming pool legislation, building control practices, codes, and Australian standards.
- Ability to interpret and apply various barrier standards in different contexts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong understanding of swimming pool legislation and building control practices.
