Swimming Pool Barrier Inspector

This critical role involves ensuring the safety of swimming pool barriers across a scenic local government area. As a Swimming Pool Barrier Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections to ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation.

Duties:
  • Conduct regular inspections of swimming pool barriers under the Council's statutory inspection program.
  • Assess applications for compliance certificates and respond to complaints or referrals from residents and industry professionals.
  • Issue relevant documentation, including Notices, Orders, Certificates, and Infringements.
  • Provide expert advice and customer service to pool owners and residents.
  • Collect evidence and represent the Council in legal proceedings as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection records.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to achieve safe and compliant outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Accredited Swimming Pool Inspector under the Building & Development Certifiers Regulation 2020.
  • Advanced Diploma in Building Surveying or similar tertiary qualification.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence.
  • Hands-on experience in pool barrier inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of swimming pool legislation, building control practices, codes, and Australian standards.
  • Ability to interpret and apply various barrier standards in different contexts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong understanding of swimming pool legislation and building control practices.
