Procurement Strategist

The position involves providing expert guidance and support in all aspects of the procurement process, including developing and implementing strategic plans, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with internal departments to reduce risk, simplify processes, and drive cost savings. Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organisational goals and objectives
  • Provide expert advice on procurement processes, policies, and best practices to internal stakeholders
  • Analyse spending patterns and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Manage supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, performance evaluations, and dispute resolution
  • Ensure compliance with relevant procurement policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for procurement activities
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to drive procurement initiatives and projects
  • Develop and maintain procurement documentation, including policies, procedures, and templates
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on procurement processes and systems
  • Collaborate with legal and finance departments to review and approve contracts and agreements
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement activities

Key Requirements:

  • Procurement experience spanning multiple categories and industry sectors is preferred
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, regulations, and industry standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
