Urgent Care Nurse Job Description

This position is a key role within our Urgent Care Service, where you will be responsible for ensuring all patients are appropriately triaged and provided with high-quality care.

We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our team, who can demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and strong communication skills. You will work collaboratively with medical practitioners to deliver patient-centered care, focusing on achieving desired clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Triage all patients presenting to the Urgent Care Service
  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to identify patient needs
  • Escalate promptly any patients requiring emergency treatment or showing signs of deterioration
  • Perform procedures such as suturing and plastering
  • Ensure seamless continuity of care by working effectively with other healthcare professionals
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding when interacting with patients and their families
Qualifications & Requirements
  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Working with Children Check and National Police Check required
  • Previous experience in acute care settings, preferably with triage experience
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to assess patient needs and develop effective care plans
