Job Description:

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of agriculture and addressing climate change through innovative geospatial solutions.

We are seeking an experienced GIS Specialist to join our mission-driven organization. Your expertise in automating GIS workflows, combined with your ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, will be essential in supporting the successful delivery of carbon projects under various standards.

The successful candidate will design and improve GIS-based tools to streamline workflows, focusing on automation and innovative workflows. You will also create Carbon Project GIS maps by defining project boundaries, conducting mapping variations, and generate reports utilising data visualisation techniques.

In addition, you will store and label Carbon Project GIS data in a consistent and secure manner, create SOPs defining best practice, and contribute to GIS audit and offset report requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes:
  • Develop and maintain GIS tools that significantly reduce manual geospatial processing through automation and innovative workflows.
  • Create Carbon Project GIS maps by defining project boundaries, conducting mapping variations, and generate reports utilising data visualisation techniques.
  • Store and label Carbon Project GIS data in a consistent and secure manner and create SOPs defining best practice.
  • Contribute to GIS audit and offset report requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in GIS, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in automating GIS workflows using tools such as Python (ArcPy, GeoPandas), ModelBuilder, or equivalent scripting frameworks.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data management.
  • Experience with AGOL administration, integration, and automation.
  • Familiarity with carbon project methodologies is highly desirable.
