Ecological Expertise: Lead Complex Assessments

As a Principal Ecologist, you will lead the delivery of complex ecological assessments, providing technical leadership and mentorship while producing high-quality reporting and outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to work on projects that align with your passion for ecology while contributing to Australia's renewable energy future. You will be responsible for designing and executing flora and fauna survey programs, delivering strategic insights, and ensuring successful project approvals that balance environmental stewardship with development goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of ecological assessments for major renewable energy projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Design and execute flora and fauna survey programs.
  • Deliver strategic insights to inform project decisions.
  • Evaluate and report on ecological risks and opportunities.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in delivering ecological assessments for project development and approvals.
  • Significant expertise in leading flora and/or fauna surveys, including mapping vegetation communities and identifying rare and threatened species.
  • Strong knowledge of Queensland's regulatory frameworks and relevant Commonwealth legislation.
  • A degree in environmental science, natural resources, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of biodiversity offsets, mitigation strategies, and rehabilitation solutions.
