Job Description:

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals with disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to carry out designated duties/tasks as per the service duty roster and other reasonable duties as instructed by your employer.

The tasks may include personal care duties for individual clients, such as showering, dressing, toileting, preparing meals, and assisting with eating. Additionally, you will provide additional support to clients, such as gastronomy feeding, mobility requirements, and supervision of medication.

In this role, you will also facilitate community inclusion and participation for clients, dependent on individual needs and abilities. You will carry out tasks aimed at meeting client needs, team objectives, and program goals.

Furthermore, you will promote positive routines, encourage socially appropriate behavior, and manage challenging behavior. You will also abridge by service communication, reporting, and client/program progress practices and procedures.

Licence/Certification Requirements:
  • Working with Children Check (preferred)
  • Australian driver's licence (preferred)
  • First Aid (preferred)

It would be beneficial if you have experience working with people with disabilities and a relevant qualification or certification, such as Working with Children Check, Australian driver's licence, First Aid, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
