Job Title

The Aviation Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of safety management system artefacts, training, competency frameworks, safety communication and culture initiatives across applicable services to support aviation operations.

  • Experience in military or civilian aircrew roles is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Defence Aviation Safety Regulations is also essential.

The ideal candidate will have advanced understanding of safety management systems and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that safety policies are compliant with requirements.
  • Providing advice to Accountable Leaders to support safety management outcomes.
  • Liaising with Customer Aviation Safety groups to provide critical safety information.
  • Supporting safety review boards to ensure the effectiveness of safety management systems.
  • Representing the organization at Interested Party safety boards as required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Communicating and reporting information regarding risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Supporting the development of safety objectives and targets through collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Conducting periodical or event-based risk management reviews.
