At Arup, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to work with us on a broad range of civil infrastructure and multidisciplinary projects. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering design and consulting services within the civil engineering technical discipline.

You will work closely with various stakeholders, including DevelopmentWA, the Public Transport Authority, the Water Corporation, local governments, and other public and private sector clients. Additionally, you will support Arup's Sustainability, Transport, Aviation, Buildings, Energy, Water, and Resource portfolios, as well as other related projects.

We offer domestic relocation assistance to ensure a smooth transition to your new role and location.

The Opportunity

  • Provide design and technical consultation in areas such as road design, pavement design, stormwater design, water and sewer reticulation, and site development.
  • Develop accurate project cost estimates independently, considering various factors such as materials, labour, and overhead, to ensure precise financial planning.
  • Manage smaller projects independently or as part of a team, allocating resources effectively, collaborating with stakeholders to meet project goals, and handling project communication and reporting.
  • Take ownership of creating and managing project budgets, actively tracking expenses, and proactively implementing cost control measures to optimise spending and project financial health.
  • Take responsibility for the performance and development of others through providing guidance, training, direction, and feedback.

Salary: We offer a competitive salary of $140,000 - $170,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Requirements

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in civil or similar area.
  • Relevant industry experience in the civil infrastructure and site development ideally in a consulting business environment.
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership.
  • Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines – and Arup's related procedures including OH&S.
  • Experience with internal and external stakeholder management.
