Key Responsibilities- Undertake daily operations and husbandry duties, ensuring the health and well-being of our animals.
- Contribute to exhibit and enclosure planning, development, design, and maintenance, ensuring animal welfare standards are met.
- Liaise with external partners on conservation initiatives and participate in the implementation and monitoring of behavioural enrichment and training programs.
- Deliver engaging and professional presentations to visitors, including animal handling and keeper talks.
- Work consistently by established safety procedures to ensure animal security, personal safety, and protection of co-workers and the public.
- Extensive experience working in a zoological setting, with a focus on primate care.
- Previous experience in animal training and excellent presentation skills.
- Certificate III in Captive Animals or other relevant and acceptable zoo keeping qualifications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
As a keeper at the Adelaide Zoo, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of species, contribute to conservation initiatives, and develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
