About the Role

We are seeking a Customer Service and Community Engagement Officer to join Banyule Leisure team at Banyule City Council.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide a positive customer experience to all visitors of facilities managed by Banyule Leisure through high-quality service at the reception and café areas. As a first point of contact for Ivanhoe Aquatic and Olympic Leisure Centre, you will respond to customer queries, undertake bookings for programs and classes, and assist in the general running of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Undertake bookings for programs and classes, managing schedules and appointments efficiently.
  • Assist with the general operation of the facility, including cash handling, administration, and maintenance tasks as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Experience in customer service, membership sales, cash handling, and administration (desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Point-of-Sale systems and willingness to learn new software.
Essential Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Level 2 First Aid certification.
