Job Summary:

The Milking Systems Specialist is a technical expert responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all milking systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on automated milking systems, electrical and mechanical equipment, and refrigeration and milk cooling systems.
  • Monitor system performance during milking sessions and make real-time adjustments to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades for improved efficiency and automation, oversee maintenance team members, assign work orders, and provide technical guidance.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and installations, assist in training team members, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Work Environment:

Duties may involve hazardous environments, exposure to confined spaces, noise, dust, cold, and heat. Work may require standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing, and using fingers and hands.

Late work and on-call duties may be required, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field or recognized certification from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum two years of practical experience in repairs of relevant systems, preferably in a dairy farm environment.
  • Project management skills, knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts, understanding of contracts and procurement procedures, and Food Handlers' Permit.
