Job Role

The Commis Chef is a key position in our culinary team, responsible for assisting the Jr Sous Chef and delivering impeccable product execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support designated sections as directed by the Jr Sous Chef
  • Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations
  • Complete all duties in line with company and statutory hygiene requirements
  • Meet requirements for consistency and high quality in a fast-paced environment
Required Skills:
  • Experience with Japanese cuisine (Tempura, robata desirable)
  • Proficiency with diverse food preparation techniques and cooking equipment
  • Experience in signature dining settings, with strong communication skills and understanding of relevant liquor laws
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
