Supervisor (Mechanic) - Fleet Services Branch

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanic Supervisor to join our Fleet Services Branch in Ipswich City Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of technicians and ensuring the efficient maintenance and servicing of our internal fleet of heavy vehicles, civil plant, and specialized machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical advice and assist in the development of specifications for the maintenance and servicing of all plant, trucks, and vehicles.
- Oversee the completion of worksheets, registers, dockets, timecards, and requisitions using corporate applications to maintain the integrity of workshop maintenance practices.
- Supervise mechanical workshop operations, employees, contractors, apprentices, and trainees to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services to council assets and customers in accordance with performance targets.
- Contribute to a safe workshop and positive workplace culture.
- A competitive salary of $41 per hour plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
- A 9-day fortnight, with every second weekend being a long weekend.
- Four weeks of annual leave, with 17.5% loading.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A mechanical trade qualification and experience in the relevant vehicle class.
- A current driver's license applicable to your trade qualification, with a minimum C class.
- A White Construction card or the ability to obtain one.
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role within a mechanical environment.
