Electrical Design Leader

Job Description:

The Electrical Design Leader will be responsible for leading electrical design projects in the Building Engineering Services team. This is a senior role where you will have the opportunity to carry out detailed design and assume the role of design leader when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Group Leader with monitoring engineering/CAD resource requirement for each project within your control.
  • Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender and contract on-site supervision to completion.
  • Liaise with the design team to produce coordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard.
  • Maintain regular in-house design reviews and checks.
  • Monitor and control project progress, design variations and project financial budgets.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants and construction contractors.
  • Undertake technical reviews of the project at appropriate stages to ensure that the project approach and deliverables are achieved.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Autocad.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
