Beacon Legal's search for a new Legal Counsel presents an opportunity to engage in impactful work with constant professional growth.
About the Role- Advise on legal, compliance and regulatory aspects of energy storage projects throughout the project lifecycle, from origination through operation.
- Lead due diligence and negotiation of agreements including MOUs, landowner agreements, equipment supply and EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and power offtake arrangements.
- Provide governance, policies, and corporate legal input.
- Closely collaborate with commercial and project delivery teams on procurement, contract management and risk.
- Monitor relevant changes in the renewables and energy storage sector.
- Instruct external counsel.
- A lawyer admitted to practice in Australia.
- Experience as a projects, energy or infrastructure lawyer for 2-6 years, either in private practice or in-house.
- Advising on development, construction and financing of large-scale renewables or infrastructure projects would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Familiarity with regulatory and risk frameworks in the energy sector.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and contract management skills are required.
- The ideal candidate is collaborative, adaptable and self-motivated, with a commercial mindset.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
