Cybersecurity Leader

The position of Cybersecurity Leader is responsible for overseeing the operational cybersecurity for Defence Science and Technology Group within the overall Defence cybersecurity framework. The role aims to preserve the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.
Key Responsibilities- Cybersecurity risk and assurance, including development of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and leading assessments for system compliance with Australian Government and Defence standards.
- Cybersecurity technical capability, including planning, development, and deployment of advanced cybersecurity tools and methods to secure digital research systems and integrate Defence security capabilities.
- Cybersecurity operations, including management of incident response, development of advanced cyber skills, threat hunting, log analysis, and vulnerability assessment.
- Achievement-focused, collaborative leader capable of adapting security practices to complex research environments.
- Authority in cybersecurity management, governance, risk, and compliance in heterogeneous research settings.
