As a seasoned Senior Project Lead, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the pre-opening of The Star Brisbane and consulting with stakeholders at all levels. You will provide excellent project and change management expertise across planning and execution phases.

The Star Brisbane, positioned at the heart of the new Queen's Wharf Brisbane precinct, will be Australia's newest entertainment and leisure destination. Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world-class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop, and socialize in the river city.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a close-knit team to deliver and build relationships with the wider business to implement project plans and ensure key deliverables align with our People strategy and the strategic objectives for The Star Brisbane.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Working closely with various senior business leaders to manage the end-to-end delivery of projects related to The Star's People Strategy.
  • Measure, monitor, and report on progress at clearly defined milestones to ensure the project is within deadline and budgets while meeting expectations.
  • Obtain buy-in from executives for all key project plans, commitments, and changes, including requirements, budget, schedule, and scope changes.
  • Deliver comprehensive updates to the Steering committee and other governance forums on the progress and risks associated with the project plan.
  • Maintain consistent communication with General Managers, Project teams, and project sponsors, ensuring they are aware of progress, risks, roadblocks, and proposed mitigation recommendations.
  • Undertake Project retros and post-implementation reviews to drive quality into the project management team and undertake a critical review of project processes and tools.

What we are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Business management, Project management, or related fields.
  • 8+ years in People-related fields with most recent experience in a leadership role involved with the delivery of high-risk and large projects.
  • Experience leading organisational people programs and projects.
