This is an exciting opportunity to begin a rewarding career in horticulture. You will work across various aspects of parks and gardens, contributing to the objectives of the Open Space & Environment team.

As a participant on this three-year apprenticeship program, you will receive hands-on training and TAFE studies. You will have the chance to learn from experienced professionals and gain practical experience in your chosen field.

The role offers flexibility, with the option to work from either our Leongatha or Foster depots. You will be part of a collaborative team environment, supporting a variety of initiatives in parks and gardens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To participate in the three-year apprenticeship program in horticulture with South Gippsland Shire Council.
  • Work at our Leongatha and Foster depots, contributing to the delivery of services in parks and gardens.
  • Receive hands-on training and TAFE studies, leading to a recognized qualification in horticulture.

Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm for starting a career in parks and gardens.
  • Commitment to completing a formal qualification.
  • Keen interest in parks and horticulture, motivated to learn and take on new challenges.
