Job Description

As a key member of the school's leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience for students from diverse backgrounds. The Acting Head of Cultural Inclusion will be responsible for coordinating the English as an Additional Language (EAL) program across all year levels.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Australian curriculum frameworks and be able to demonstrate contemporary teaching practice. They will also possess a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and the safety and wellbeing of children.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the EAL program to create a positive learning environment for students with English as an Additional Language;
  • Working closely with Learning Diversity Leaders to ensure refugee, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and other culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) students are supported within the classroom;

Additionally, you will have opportunities for professional development and contribute to the growth and success of the college community.

,Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A relevant teaching qualification and/or registration with VIT;
  • Proven experience in teaching and leading diverse student groups;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

You will also require a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and a passion for making a real difference in the lives of students.
