Cost Management Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cost Management Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in feasibility studies, writing procurement reports, estimating and cost planning, tendering and procurement, and dealing with post contract cost variances.

  • Conduct thorough feasibility studies and compile detailed procurement reports.
  • Assist with estimating and cost planning, including the production and presentation of final cost plans.
  • Support tendering and procurement processes, including pre-qualification stage assistance, pre-tender estimate preparation, tender analysis, tender reports, and contractual document compilation.
  • Evaluate and manage post-contract cost variances, referring major changes to line management where applicable.
  • Perform progress claim assessments on site based on drawings and project plans.
  • Publish regular post-contract cost reports for Commission Managers to present to clients.
  • Participate in value engineering initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge management by documenting key information and learning generated from each commission into internal databases.
  • Identify business development opportunities with existing clients and report them to Commission Managers.
  • Nurture positive relationships with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Adhere to project governance processes and systems throughout the project.
  • Collaborate effectively within the cost management team to ensure all deliverables are met.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in Construction or a related field.
  • Progress towards Chartered status with AAIQS or RICS or equivalent recognized body.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in cost management, preferably in private practice, consultancy, or construction organizations.
