The Role

The Cook will work under the guidance of the Chef Supervisor to prepare, cook and serve nourishing, palatable and attractive in-house meals for residents. The key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day preparation, provision and presentation of food and drink to ensure an excellent standard of quality.
  • Assisting with the provision of special dietary requirements for individual residents as specified by the dietician, speech therapist or clinical care team.
  • Ensuring items of stock required are reported to the Chef Supervisor for ordering.
  • Documenting, communicating, implementing, delivering and monitoring of the Food Safety Program (FSP) in partnership with the Chef Supervisor.
  • Supporting all catering staff to maintain a clean and non-cluttered work environment and promoting safe work practices.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Food Handling Course certificate.
  • A relevant certificate such as Certificate III Hospitality - Commercial Cookery.
  • A Current National Police Certificate.
  • Experience in residential aged care and hospitality.
