Role Purpose

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the product management and delivery of Operations Management within the IELTS operations team. This role will be responsible for leading the product management and delivery of Operations Management within the IELTS operations team, supporting the delivery of our ongoing IELTS transformation of test centre, test taker, and IELTS partner experiences.

The successful candidate will identify opportunities to develop, enhance, and improve the Operations Management product experience through sound test taker research, market and data analysis, and co-validation with IDP's global network. They will lead the development of the strategic roadmap for the products and work with teams to implement and deliver, achieving targeted business and test taker outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the development of a consolidated product roadmap for Operations Management within the Test Centre Experience team, aligning with global strategic objectives.
  2. Lead the management of current products to create amazing test centre and test taker experiences, focusing on the product lifecycle, new product development, and process improvements to drive efficiencies and deliver on business objectives.
  3. Leverage market, competitor, test taker, test centre, partner, and digital insights to inform forward-looking roadmaps and product plans.
  4. Develop case for change, investment business cases (where required), and canvasses, including forecasting and mapping to key metrics and ROI tracking.
  5. Communicate product strategy and roadmap with key stakeholders for input and alignment.
  6. Develop core value proposition for Operations Management products, integrating and connecting test centre experience with test taker and partner experiences, supporting physical and digital test taker interactions, omnichannel experience, and lifecycle.
  7. Report key metrics impacting business performance, including tracking of benefits realisation (from new products and improvements).
  8. Leverage data from across the platform and work with data teams to identify opportunities such as 'next best action' or gaps that could be addressed to improve commercial outcomes.
  9. Advocate for the test centre experience within the scope of Operations Management products.
  10. Continually walk in the test taker's shoes across digital and physical platforms for continuous improvement via a prioritised backlog being actively worked on by required teams.
  11. Collaborate with CX and research teams to facilitate regular co-design to enable a complete understanding of test taker needs.
  12. Ensure the test taker journey on digital and non-digital platforms is optimised for experience and conversion outcomes.
  13. Work with associated product delivery teams to deliver the required product roadmap in line with strategy, business planning, and practical needs anchored to network and test taker feedback.
  14. Manage initiatives in the roadmap across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, co-ordinating and managing dependencies in release schedules.
  15. Create go-to-market and change management plans with key stakeholders to optimise test taker, business, and operational adoption and performance.
  16. Lead product owners to ensure effective implementation of the product strategy, roadmap, and performance objectives.
  17. Cascade goals and business objectives specific to delivery to ensure test taker and business outcomes.
  18. Support, guide, and mentor product owners as part of PI planning with application of Agile practices.
  19. Deliver on test taker/business outcomes through people enabling the best outcomes through team capabilities.
  20. Foster a team culture that is about outcomes and collaborative ways of working for the benefit of our test takers.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a track record in the management of commercialised products/services at various stages in their product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and execution of product management practice, including business planning, roadmap development, forecast, and benefits realisation.

They will have proven ability to lead product lifecycle from concept to MVP and go-to-market, including mature product iterative improvement, and where applicable, migration and exit. The candidate will demonstrate ability to take responsibility for the overall condition and stewardship of the product.

Strong business and data analysis skills with ability to synthesise market, test taker, and data insights to inform product decisions, actions, and outcomes are essential. The ideal candidate will have an ongoing thirst for a better understanding of the test taker and ambition to play a key role in promoting superior test taker experiences and test taker-centric business solutions.

They will have business acumen with the ability to create solutions that meet test taker needs, build rapport and communicate solutions to senior stakeholders, and be comfortable working in ambiguous situations, working creatively on formative concepts or complex problems to solve.

Capable of operating with both a macro and micro lens, providing focus to detailed steps/tasks as well as maintaining a big picture view, passion for driving process improvements that directly impact operational efficiencies and NPS are also required.

Prior experience in managing and leading teams, experience across different industries (e.g. a mix of digital and bricks and mortar) are desirable.
