Senior Workplace Relations Specialist

At Australian Unity, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Workplace Relations Consultant to join our team. As a senior consultant within the Workplace Relations team, you'll play a critical role in the effective case management of employee grievances/claims, workplace investigations, conduct and performance issues, and the management of ill and injured employees.
Key Responsibilities:- Guide and support managers in responding to employee matters, including grievances, claims, and workplace investigations.
- Assume responsibility for complex/higher risk cases and provide advice to people leaders on interpretation of employment legislation, industrial instruments, employment contracts, and policy.
- Represent Australian Unity in the Fair Work Commission in relation to unfair dismissal, general protections, and bullying matters.
- Engage with union or legal representatives in a respectful and effective manner.
- Provide accurate and appropriate advice to people leaders on key legislative obligations, modern awards, Australian Unity enterprise agreements, employment contracts, and policies.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in human resources, industrial relations, law, or a similar field.
- Significant experience in a workplace/employee relations role or a broader human resources role with a strong workplace relations component.
- Strong experience dealing with employee relations case management.
- Demonstrated ability to review, interpret, and apply industrial instruments.
- Demonstrated experience responding to formal applications in the Fair Work Commission or other employment tribunals.
- Solid understanding of employment regulation in Australia, including institutions and employment legislation.
