Accounting Leadership Role

Pacific Industrial Company is a highly regarded privately owned company with a 55-year history as a leader in the Australian steel fabrication and construction industry.

  • Close month-end journals, reconciliations, and reporting to management.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and related financial systems.
  • Identify and resolve system discrepancies when necessary.
  • Deliver accurate and timely accounts for management and the board.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar accounting role preferred.
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or equivalent, progressing towards CA/CPA.
  • Leadership skills with experience mentoring finance staff.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Manage BAS, PAYG, and act as backup for the accounting and payroll functions.
  2. Support the annual budget process, including building business cases for capex and M&A.
  3. Maintain the fixed-asset register.
  4. Provide strategic analysis and advice to support business operations.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Drive process improvements and support new system implementations.
  • Mentor finance staff.
  • Support other finance tasks as required.
