Radiology Team Lead Position

I-MED Radiology Fortitude Valley is seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical imaging professional to fill the position of Chief Radiographer.
As Chief Radiographer at Fortitude Valley, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the busy practice, providing leadership and support to the technologist team. You will have a comprehensive approach to medical imaging services, with a strong clinical focus that delivers high-quality, accurate medical imaging services to referrers and patients, as well as a commercial focus that drives improved clinical and financial outcomes.
This exciting opportunity requires a Chief Radiographer who has a strong focus on team engagement, while also possessing the skills and expertise to lead through the challenges associated with managing a busy multimodality clinic.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to plan and manage the daily technologist workforce requirements and productivity;
- Excellent clinical skills, with the ability to perform routine and specialized medical imaging procedures to the highest professional standards;
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with radiologists, patients, staff, and other medical and non-medical personnel;
- A strong work ethic and commitment to the culture and values of I-MED Radiology Network;
- General and CT experience, with MRI being highly regarded.
The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, depending on experience. This figure is based on industry standards and market rates for medical imaging professionals in the Brisbane area.
Key accountabilities include:
- Planning and managing the daily technologist workforce requirements and productivity;
- Managing, developing, and mentoring technologist staff, and providing clinical guidance;
- Ensuring outstanding service delivery and supervising the day-to-day management of the Medical Imaging department;
- Providing quality improvement initiatives and reviewing and refining work practices to improve clinical and financial outcomes;
- Performing routine and specialized medical imaging procedures to the highest professional standards as required;
- Establishing and maintaining strong, cooperative relationships with local GPs and referring specialists.
Key selection criteria:
- Ability to manage, coach, and lead clinic staff;
- Demonstrated ability to perform high-quality medical imaging examinations employing correct techniques to the accepted industry standard or above;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with radiologists, patients, staff, and other medical and non-medical personnel verbally and in writing;
- Strong work ethic and commitment to the culture and values of I-MED Radiology Network;
- General and CT experience required; MRI highly regarded.
