Are you an experienced Plant Operator seeking a change?

We are currently looking for a Waste Facility Operator to join our team in Wandoan.

This role is responsible for performing general duties relating to the maintenance of the Wandoan Waste Facility, while adhering to Environmental and Operational Management Plans and Department of Water and Environment Regulation licence requirements. The successful candidate will also ensure safe operations and minor maintenance of plant and equipment, as well as a safe workplace at all times.

The position requires daily checks on plant and machinery, organisation of scheduled services and repairs, cleaning of equipment, and secure storage at the end of each day.

The Waste Facility operator hours are 7:15am to 12:45pm. This permanent part-time position is for 2 days per week (Monday and Tuesday) with further hours available as required.

This role requires a candidate who can:

  • Establish and maintain tip face, batters and bund walls within standards and acceptable limits.
  • Push, compact and cover waste to maximise the life of the Waste Facility and in accordance with operating conditions.
  • Ensure public safety through maintaining internal road networks and signage.
  • Screen and sort incoming material to minimise quantities directed to landfill. Ensure that each material is deposited in the appropriate location.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of initiatives and services and provide excellent service to customers.
  • Effectively use computers and apps to record waste received and safety operations on a day-to-day basis.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • White Card (preferred) and willingness to gain required tickets.

Additional Information:

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check), current WH&S Construction Induction Certificate (White) and current Driver's License. Any other site-specific training will be organised by us.
