About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Arborist to join our team at NRM Environmental Jobs. As a key member of our botanical conservation team, you will be responsible for managing and curating our highly diverse tree collections, ensuring the health and safety of our staff and visitors, and providing technical advice on tree-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain our tree collections, including risk management, tree maintenance programs, and record keeping.
- Provide technical advice on tree-related matters, including tree risk assessments and determining risk control actions.
- Supervise a small team of arborists and horticulturalists, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of our tree management programs.
- Implement new arboriculture practices and prioritize workload to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
- Ensure accurate recording, data entry, and analysis of arboriculture collections using our plant database and GIS systems.
Requirements
- Diploma in Arboriculture or equivalent with experience in a wide range of tree maintenance and services.
- Level II Chainsaw Operation/Fell Trees Manually (Intermediate)
- Qualification in Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) and ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ or equivalent)
- Experience in the arboriculture industry, including tree climbing and complex rigging works.
- Ability to assess and prepare reports on tree risk assessment and other tree-related data.
- Experience supervising a wide range of arboriculture services and maintenance programs.
- Current NSW Driver's licence and ability to drive manual vehicles.
