About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our team at Thiess. As a key member of our fleet maintenance and management team, you will be responsible for performing routine servicing, repair, and maintenance tasks on large-scale mobile mining equipment.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks on heavy earthmoving equipment, including excavators, drill rigs, and dozers;
  • Completing breakdowns, services, and component changeouts to a high standard;
  • Source technical information from reference manuals, OEM documents, and computer-based systems;
  • Ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times;
  • Conducting regular inspections to maximise equipment utilisation.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a Trade Qualified Plant Mechanic Certificate III Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment) or similar qualification. You will also have post-trade experience working in the Mining or Heavy Earth Moving industry.

In addition, we are looking for candidates with demonstrated experience with Liebherr and CAT large earthmoving equipment, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
