ADF Rehabilitation Consultant Job Overview

As an expert in workplace health, injury management and safety, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality services that prioritize recovery and function for clients with physical and/or psychological injuries. Our organization focuses on getting clients back to work and life, regardless of age, stage or situation.

This is an excellent opportunity to apply your clinical reasoning skills in a meaningful and purposeful way, supporting military personnel who have sustained injuries in the line of duty. You will be part of a team that gets military personnel fully fit and ready to defend and protect Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take a holistic care approach, working within a multidisciplinary team to support rehabilitation journeys.
  • Perform assessments depending on your area of clinical expertise, including functional capacity evaluations, worksite, ergonomic or activities of daily living assessments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including employees, medical specialists, treatment providers and allied health professionals.
  • Develop, implement and monitor rehabilitation plans.

KPIs are based on service delivery outcomes, not billable hours. A genuine person-centred focus and goal setting.

Enjoy set working hours for true work/life balance – no overtime or outside work hours work. Early starts and finishes: 7:30am – 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am – 1:30pm Friday. Located at RAAF Base Townsville in the Townsville Health Centre.

Requirements:
  • Current unrestricted registration or membership with the relevant industry body (AHPRA, ESSA, ASORC/RCAA or AASW).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Nursing, Osteopathy or Social Work.
  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Strong clinical reasoning.
  • Ability to engage across multidisciplinary teams to support common goals.
  • Passion to help people rehabilitate.
  • Occupational rehabilitation experience highly regarded.
