Job Description:

The Virtual Healthcare Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals with their healthcare concerns through a dedicated helpline service. The specialist provides guidance to callers who are unsure if they should seek medical attention or manage their condition at home.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing accurate and up-to-date healthcare information and assessing symptoms
  • Conducting comprehensive telephone assessments
  • Recommending the appropriate time and place of care
  • Referring callers to other services as needed

About You:

You are a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse, driven by a passion for delivering exceptional virtual healthcare. You want to make a positive impact by providing early, appropriate support to individuals with their healthcare needs and reducing avoidable strain on emergency services by connecting consumers to the right care at the right time.

Requirements:

  • Unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years of experience
  • At least 3 years of full-time (or equivalent) clinical experience within the last 5 years as a Registered Nurse
  • A varied nursing background involving substantial public contact, including complex primary health, acute medical, or emergency department settings
  • Confidence in applying critical thinking and clinical judgment in high-pressure situations across all age groups and clinical presentations
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal: ability to communicate with compassion and professionalism
  • A high affinity with using computer systems, including telehealth platforms, databases, and digital communication tools
  • Must be located within Australia
