About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our innovative team at Mergent Recruitment Advisory. As a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the successful execution of HVAC projects for commercial and industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Oversight
    Overall responsibility for managing specific contracts and acting as the primary point of contact with the client. Ensure subcontractors and suppliers have up-to-date insurance and certificates. Organize and manage resources to meet production and installation schedules. Liaise with suppliers to procure contract-specific equipment and place orders.
  • Document Control
    Manage document control for specific contracts. Analyze contract documentation and specifications to establish construction schedules according to client requirements.
  • Financial Management
    Control project finances and budgets, including interim progress payment claims and receipts. Manage cost variations and seek approval. Work to increase the original estimated margin.
  • Team Leadership
    Provide advice, assistance, and direction to relevant departments to ensure safe and efficient operations and successful project outcomes. Supervise manufacturing, on-site tradespeople, and subcontractor personnel to ensure compliance with work instructions. Maintain regular contact with clients to ensure satisfaction. Collaborate with Engineering, Drafting, Accounts, and Estimating departments.
  • Professional Development
    Participate in training and identify additional training needs to enhance qualifications. Attend relevant training courses recommended by the manager.
About You

Qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field are highly valued. Proven experience as a Project Manager in the HVAC industry, with a focus on air conditioning projects, is essential. In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, design principles, and installation practices is required. Strong project management skills, including planning, organizing, and resource management, are necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, are essential. Proficient in project management software and tools for scheduling, cost control, and document management is a must. Ability to analyze and solve problems, make informed decisions, and manage project risks is critical. Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and industry best practices is required. Strong leadership abilities, with a focus on team building and motivation, are essential. PMP certification or equivalent is preferred. Construction Industry Card (White Card) and Current Driver's License are also required. Commissioning experience is an asset.
