Role Overview: As an Associate within the Governance and Oversight team in Managed Fund Services, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective risk management and operational diligence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of enhanced testing initiatives across critical risk domains to evaluate potential risks and enhancements to service provider systems, processes, and controls.
- Analyze questionnaires from Service Provider Monitoring reviews concerning our Investment Managers, Custodians, and Administrators to pinpoint the Responsible Entity/Trustee's risk exposures and assess alignment with Perpetual's Risk Appetite.
- Conduct daily reviews of systems and manage ongoing questionnaires, ensuring timely follow-ups with providers to complete outstanding submissions.
- Assist in preparing reports for Management, the Governance, Risk and Compliance Committee, and the Board regarding risks identified through Service Provider monitoring and the actions taken by service providers or Responsible Entities/Trustees to mitigate those risks.
- Participate in the discovery and investigation of incidents or breaches caused by service providers.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Perpetual's requirements, risk appetite, managed funds, and service providers.
- Foster and maintain effective relationships with service providers and internal stakeholders.
- Act in accordance with Perpetual's core values and objectives.
- Engage in ad-hoc projects as required.
Candidate Profile:
- A degree in Law, Business, Accounting, or Economics is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in Financial Services, particularly in managed funds, investment management, or third-party oversight. This role is suitable for individuals with backgrounds in compliance, risk, audit, or operational roles.
- A solid understanding of service provider operations for managed investment schemes, including the legal, regulatory, compliance, and risk frameworks governing these schemes.
- Prior experience in project management is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
