Delivering Complex Projects

As a Senior Project Delivery Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving the successful execution of programs and projects within our Engineering and Design Service Excellence team. Your expertise will focus on analysing end-to-end delivery performance, identifying improvements, and providing expert guidance to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Provide critical support in programme and project scoping, ensuring accurate estimates of scope, schedule, and cost are achieved to deliver exceptional outcomes.
  • Accountable for core programme and project responsibilities including resource management, reporting, project governance, and project management methodologies.
  • Establish best-practice standards and procedures to enhance programme and project management, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Lead Joint Planning teams and working groups, promoting a mindset of excellence and collaboration.
  • Identify and actively manage project assumptions, risks, issues, and dependencies, establishing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain required governance frameworks and processes for programmes and projects, ensuring alignment with organisational systems.
  • Monitor and report on programme and project status, analysing business performance and updating data as necessary.
  • Critically assess opportunities for cost, time, and quality improvements, implementing solutions that drive project success.
  • Provide independent advice, mentoring, and support to project teams, enhancing project delivery outcomes.
  • Support planning, budgeting, and reporting processes, leveraging your expertise to drive project success.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business or related discipline.
  • Industry accreditation in planning and/or project management principles (PMBOK, Prince2, P3O, MSP).
  • Broad knowledge and expertise in portfolio, programme, and project management, preferably within government-regulated and/or engineering sectors.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships at all levels and with external suppliers/providers.
  • Demonstrated success in developing effective programme and project management frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, complemented by influencing skills.
  • Ability to align detail-oriented tasks with the 'big picture' and communicate accordingly.
  • Highly developed analytical skills, attention to detail, and business acumen.
