Job Opportunity

VCE English educators play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of the next generation by providing high-quality education that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching VCE English, with excellent lesson planning and delivery skills. They will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging and challenging curricula that cater to the diverse needs of students.

In addition to their teaching responsibilities, the ideal candidate will contribute to the development of school policies and programs, participate in professional learning activities, and engage with parents and the broader community to promote student learning and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach VCE English classes to students of varying abilities
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging curricula that cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to improve learning outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and programs
  • Participate in professional learning activities to enhance teaching practices
  • Engage with parents and the broader community to promote student learning and wellbeing

Requirements:

  • Provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching VCE English
  • Excellent lesson planning and delivery skills
  • Ability to develop and implement engaging and challenging curricula
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Selection Criteria:

  • SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills
  • SC2: Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth
  • SC3: Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning
  • SC4: Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • SC5: Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values
