Service Manager Corporate Finance

We are seeking a strategic leader with a passion for public sector finance and corporate governance to drive business growth and excellence in this key role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant legislation to ensure seamless operations.
  • Lead the Corporate Finance Unit including staff development, performance management, and fostering a positive team culture that drives results.
  • Oversee capitalisation, asset accounting, and the development and review of the Long Term Asset Management Plan to optimise resource allocation.
  • Provide expert taxation advice and ensure accurate compliance and lodgement of tax returns to minimise risk.
  • Support treasury management, balancing debt and investment portfolios, and forecasting cash flows to inform strategic decisions.
  • Build effective internal partnerships and deliver tailored financial insights that support decision-making across the organisation.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives within the Financial Services division and drive continuous service improvements to enhance overall performance.
Selection Criteria:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, corporate taxation, treasury, and asset management is essential for success in this role.
  • Proven leadership in team development, service delivery, and performance improvement is critical for driving business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in statutory reporting and asset accounting within a complex organisation is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organisational levels are required to build strong relationships and achieve goals.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools relevant to medium-to-large or government organisations is necessary for managing financial processes efficiently.
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business or Accounting are mandatory for this position.
  • Membership with CPA Australia or an equivalent professional body is required.
  • Knowledge and experience in applying Australian Accounting Standards are essential for ensuring compliance and accuracy.
