The Team:

Allied Health Services provides clinical services across ten disciplines, supporting all Allied Health professionals within Hospitals South. Led by the Executive Director of Allied Health, the team collaborates with nursing, medical, and support staff to deliver excellence in healthcare and improve health outcomes for the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

This Allied Health Lead role connects Allied Health Services with the Surgical and Perioperative Services stream. The Lead acts as a communication and coordination point for Allied Health staff in the stream, engaging with stream leadership to promote an interdisciplinary approach to care. The role ensures Allied Health integration in decision-making, drives innovation and improvements, and collaborates with other Allied Health Leads to connect clinical streams.

You will need:

  • Extensive clinical practice expertise in acute, community, or rehabilitation hospital settings, with substantial experience and knowledge of clinical services and contemporary Allied Health models in tertiary hospitals.
  • Proven leadership abilities across Allied Health staff and effective engagement with stream and organizational leaders.
  • Thorough knowledge of the priorities and governance structures of Hospitals South, Allied Health Services, and clinical streams, along with an understanding of internal and external drivers for organizational change.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full-time position, working 76 hours per fortnight, starting as soon as possible.

Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. Note: This process may be used to fill similar vacancies for twelve months from the date of publication.

Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.

Salary range aligns with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022. Access to salaries beyond $130,900 depends on qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

Additional allowances may include a Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet essential criteria, including:
  • Satisfactory completion of an allied health professional course at a recognized tertiary institution and registration with the relevant Board or membership of a professional association for unregulated professions.
  • Current and valid registration/licences, with ongoing responsibility to maintain these, including informing the employer of any changes or revocations.
Desirable criteria include relevant postgraduate qualifications.
