Job Overview

We are pioneering the future of air traffic management at Thales. Our team combines curiosity to explore, intelligence to question and vision to create critical security solutions.

This role involves working on a high-profile project transforming Australia's Air Traffic Management system into the most complex aviation history.

The project will establish, commission and support a unified Civil Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS). CMATS will replace ATM components of The Australian Advanced Air Traffic System operated by Airservices Australia and the Australian Defence Air Traffic System operated by the Department of Defence.

A once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a unified solution for future Air Traffic Management needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all activities to ensure successful management and utilisation of scope, time, cost and people.
  • Provide technical leadership and manage technical delivery of the system of systems design, verification & validation and deployment of the RZ release.
  • Plan and coordinate resolution of Rz PCR and changes as well as remaining deliveries.
  • Manage transversal engineering activities and dependencies with the design.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve design solutions.
  • Contribute to internal and external maturity assessments.
  • Ensure global fitness for purpose of the developed system.
  • Lead alert test cases activities.
  • Support system of system verification and validation activities.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve efficiency through collaborative work in project teams, capitalisation of data, involvement of transverse functions and co-operation between different stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, IT or related discipline and relevant industrial experience in System and Software engineering.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of Air Traffic Management systems.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of system activities within the verification and validation cycle of large, complex real-time software-based systems.
  • Experience in baseline management, traceability and data models.
  • Ideal experience and understanding of DO-278, DO-178 and associated processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with senior management, customers and partners.
