Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Psychology Registrar to join our multidisciplinary team at Western Health. As a Psychology Registrar, you will play a vital role in supporting people with severe and enduring mental illness through a structured and well-supported learning program in a clinical practice environment.

About the Role

The Psychology Registrar will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in one of the following mental health programs:

  1. Adult Community Teams (Central and Outer)
  2. Preventative and Recovery Care (Yanna Yanna Women's PARC)
  3. Specialist services – Perinatal Mental Health

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality mental health services to consumers
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with consumers, carers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health programs and services
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and outcomes

Requirements

  • General registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Masters or Doctoral level qualification in Clinical Psychology, approved by the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Interest in working within public mental health as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to taking part in a Registrar Program by engaging in discipline-specific work alongside a structured education, learning, supervision, and support program
  • Willingness to work towards obtaining endorsement within the specified time period
  • Compliance with the Australian Psychological Society Code of Ethics and willingness to learn about the Mental Health Act
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with people experiencing severe and enduring mental illness
