Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at our Starship rocket development and test site. As part of a dynamic and hardworking team, you will provide technical expertise and assist in the implementation of all environmental, health, and safety programs. The ideal candidate is highly skilled with both environmental and occupational safety fields, hands-on, and works well in a fast-paced environment.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting detailed safety reviews of complex hazardous operations to ensure safe execution
  • Leading or assisting in incident investigations, including initial follow-up, root cause analysis, and corrective action development and closure
  • Maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH
  • Collaborating with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 5+ years of experience in the design, development, and operational oversight of environmental, health, and safety disciplines

Please note that this is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Brownsville, TX area. Additionally, occasional extended hours and weekend work may be required.
